Jalan Kota is known as the major road in Taiping, Perak. The LED screen is situated in one of the busiest roads in Taiping and Jalan Kota passes through the town centre of Taiping. The state has moving from its decades primary sector incomes of tin mining industry starting from the 1980s. Through the tertiary sector, the tourism industry contributed RM201.4 billion (14.9%) to the state gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017. A total of RM249.8 million investments received in the early year of 2018 which increased to RM1.43 billion in early 2019 with the state ranks fifth after Penang, Kedah, Johor and Selangor within the total investment value. Various manufacturing factories investment projects worth RM1.9 billion received in 2018. Early in 2006, Perak Investment Management Centre (InvestPerak) are established by the state government to serve as the contact for investors in the manufacturing and services sectors. Through the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP), the state has target for five years development plan from 2016 to 2020 with its economic development corridor target on the area of Southern Perak. A 20-year masterplan was also formulated in 2017 to drive economic development in the state with a development value of up to RM30 billion.
Since tertiary sector is the main economic sector for Perak, it is among the popular destination for domestic tourists within Malaysia with the state is placed number two for local tourists after the state of Pahang in 2018. The state feature various attractions including the royal town of Kuala Kangsar with iconic buildings such as the Iskandariah Palace, Pavilion Square Tower, Perak Royal Museum, Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery and the Ubudiah Mosque. The British left various colonial legacy through Perak including the Birch Memorial Clock Tower, Ipoh High Court, Ipoh railway station, Ipoh Town Hall and Old Post Office, Kellie's Castle, Majestic Station Hotel, Malay College Kuala Kangsar, Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut), Perak State Museum, Royal Ipoh Club, St. John Church and Taiping Lake Gardens. The local Malay struggle historical events being remembered through the Pasir Salak Historical Complex. Ethnic Chinese also left several historical landmarks mainly in the capital city of Ipoh including the building of Darul Ridzuan Museum, which is a former wealthy Chinese tin miner mansion, the Han Chin Pet Soo which is a former shadowy activities building for Hakka miners, and the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan.
